Youth Development Training Day 2015

DSC07741 (Medium)

Saturday, July 25th, a calm, crisp mid-summer’s day, saw a well-run, Youth Development Day of workshops and demonstrations in areas such as clipping, grooming, ring craft, showmanship, halter making and stock judging held on the ever-impressive premises of the Westellen Aberdeen Angus herd owned by John and Kate Tait just outside Midleton in Cork.
Matthew made the journey with Rita and Darragh to attend the event where Matthew in fact, was the expert trainer on the day. The workshop was specifically aimed at individuals ranging from 8 to 24 years of age who possess a keen interest in pedigree beef cattle management and presentation. Matthew thoroughly enjoyed the experience as he could directly enhance the skills of people of all ability levels and the results were very rewarding. Overall, a fantastic opportunity for the next generation of young breeders and cattle enthusiasts to be involved in and to pick up some new skills and meet new people.
